The Program Coordinator will play a crucial role in organizing and executing tasks to ensure the success of all IRONMAN Foundation programming. Being the Program Coordinator for The IRONMAN Foundation means providing nonprofit support and engagement to donors and fundraising participants as well as maintaining detailed donation records. The Program Coordinator will assist with foundation program coordination, event planning, relationship building, creatives, and donor engagement for The IRONMAN Foundation. This role champions dynamic and creative individuals who can prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously.

The IRONMAN Foundation creates a positive impact in IRONMAN race communities all over North America and this role is integral in helping Foundation athletes have a meaningful and memorable experience.


  • Participant Coordination, Engagement, and Relationship Management:
    • Develop relationships with fundraising participants
    • Facilitate messaging plan to all participants across IRONMAN Foundation programming
    • Assist in maintaining, and providing content for all IRONMAN Foundation social media sites
    • Leverage existing partnerships while assisting in recruitment and marketing to reach new participants
    • Consult with participants on fundraising tactics and tools to ensure successful meeting of goals
  • Event Support:
    • Represent The IRONMAN Foundation at key IRONMAN events over the course of the triathlon season
    • Assist in coordination of off-site events; i.e. preparing materials, mailings, maintaining in-house inventory
    • Comfortable speaking in front of large groups
    • Organize on-site team events (luncheons, athlete meet-ups)
  • Donor Coordination:
    • Responsible for daily receipt and processing of all donations
    • Provide support to the corporate matching gift program
    • Track and record IRONMAN Foundation funding and program donations
  • Provide support to all IRONMAN Foundation programs, as needed
  • Marketing & Advocacy Support
    • Utilize effective written and oral communications skills to increase awareness of IMF programs, athletes, and mission


  • Exhibit strong drive for results and success; convey a sense of urgency to achieve outcomes and exceed expectations
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key business partners by building personal credibility and solid trust
  • Ability to self-motivate and self-direct; possess strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to establish and cultivate strong relationships with internal/external partners and program participants
  • Experience utilizing the Internet as a research tool
  • Knowledge and experience in a wide range of current nonprofit and endurance based programs
  • Ability to work in a team environment, manage multiple responsibilities
  • High level of detail orientation and ability to manage multiple deadlines at once


  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • Must be able to travel and work over weekends
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs


  • 1 year professional work experience in business, nonprofit, finance, communications, marketing, sales, or social media
  • Degree in business, marketing, communication or nonprofit management preferred
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office products, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Photoshop and InDesign
  • Experience in QuickBooks and nonprofit management systems – CrowdRise or other fundraising platform
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Public speaking and presentation skills

The Program Coordinator will report to the Senior Manager of Fundraising & Development and works closely with all levels of The IRONMAN Foundation Team. The Fundraising Program Coordinator position is based out of The IRONMAN Foundation office in Tampa, FL.
