the ironman foundation awarded a $10,000 community grant to sparc (sports, arts, and recreation of chattanooga), a division of disabled usa, to provide instruction, training, and equipment for individuals with disabilities in the sports of wheelchair racing, handcycle racing, and triathlon competition.

CHATTANOOGA AREA FOOD BANKCHATT_FoodBank

 the chattanooga area food bank feeds over 50,000 families each week within the chattanooga region.  THE IRONMAN FOUNDATON NEWTON-RUNNING AMBASSADOR TRIATHLON TEAM RAISED $26,846 to help further the food bank’s mission of bringing nourishing food to the people of their region who have the need, and courage to seek help.  the ambassador tri team also performed a service project onsite during race week to assist in organizing food donations.

Limbs Without Limits

 limbs without limits, and organization that is committed to support, motivate, and empower individuals living with a mobility IMPAIRMENT to live a HEALTHIER and more active lifestyle, used their volunteerism grant from the ironman foundation to hold an adaptive water sports clinic for the mobility impaired as well as for children with special needs.
