GRANTS
Since its inception in 2003, the IRONMAN Foundation, in partnership with The IRONMAN Group, has provided over $60 million in support to over 10,000 local, regional, national, and global nonprofit initiatives. Much of this support has been distributed through our grant programs.
Community Grant Program
The IRONMAN Foundation Community Grant program supports organizations within select race communities. Grant funding provides an opportunity to create positive, tangible change in our race communities and leave the IRONMAN Legacy behind long after race day.
The IRONMAN Foundation supports a broad range of organizations; however, priority is given to organizations and/or projects that provide resources for children to swim, bike, and run into a stronger future.
Dave Orlowski Memorial Grant
In memory of Dave Orlowski, one of the original IRONMAN finishers from 1978, an IRONMAN Foundation Board of Directors member, and a beloved member of our 'ohana. He took part in many IRONMAN Foundation service projects, bike builds, TEAM IMF meetups, and more, leaving a lasting impact in all of our IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 race communities. Together, we continue to chase the standards that Dave set for triathlon and aim to carry on his courage, empathy, perseverance, and optimism within the communities that we serve.
In 2025, the Dave Orlowski Memorial Grant will be distributed to an organization within the IRONMAN 70.3 Hawai'i community. Together, the IRONMAN Foundation team and local Race Director will choose a local charity.
Volunteerism Grants
Volunteers are the heart and soul of every IRONMAN, Rock 'n' Roll Running Series, and UTMB event. Thousands of volunteers give their time each year to help runners and triathletes have an incredible race day.
Most often, the volunteers you see at races come from community groups who continue to give back and positively impact their communities year-round.
Through our Volunteerism Grants, funding is awarded to help community organizations such as schools to purchase uniforms and equipment for their sports teams, summer camps that provided scholarships for at risk children, food banks to serve the food insecure, and so much more.
To learn more about the application process, please contact the Volunteer Director for the specific IRONMAN or Rock 'n' Roll Running Series event you are interested in. You can reach them by visiting the event-specific webpage from the websites listed below and selecting "Connect."
