Athlete Bio
Michellie Jones is, without a doubt, one of the greatest triathletes of all time—an athlete whose career has defined excellence, longevity, and versatility across every level of the sport. A two-time ITU World Champion (1992, 1993), she dominated short-course racing in the ’90s before claiming silver at the Sydney 2000 Olympics, making history as Australia’s first Olympic triathlon medalist. Not content with just one arena, she transitioned to long-course racing, finishing second at the Ironman World Championship in 2005 before capturing the coveted Ironman World Champion title in 2006, becoming the oldest first-time winner at the time.
Michellie’s ability to excel in any format of racing is unmatched—she has won in Xterra off-road triathlon, dominated numerous Ironman and 70.3 races, and even guided Katie Kelly to a gold medal at the 2016 Rio Paralympics in the visually impaired category, proving her leadership and selflessness in the sport. And she’s far from done. In 2024, she once again proved her greatness by becoming the Ironman 70.3 World Champion in the 55-59 age group, showing that champions never stop pushing their limits.
The IRONMAN 70.3 Chattanooga Relay Auction will take place from Monday, March 3 (8:00 AM EST) through Sunday, March 16 (8:00 PM EST).

The auction winner will only be awarded via bids placed on the official auction site. No verbal, email or phone bids will be accepted.
If the IRONMAN 70.3 Chattanooga Relay Auction Winner already has a general entry for any 2025 IRONMAN or IRONMAN 70.3 North America events, the IRONMAN Foundation can have that entry deferred to a future IM NA event in order to better accommodate the May 18 2025, race date.

How do I make a bid?
Within the IRONMAN 70.3 Chattanooga Relay Auction Givergy website, choose a donation dollar amount and click on Donate.
At the bottom of the page beneath the photo and description it will show you the current winning bid and the next minimum bid you need to make. Enter your bid amount into the field at the bottom of the page and click Place Bid (if you are not registered you will need to register your details). Credit card information is required before placing your first bid.
How do I register?
You can register when you first place a bid, or you can click on Login/Register within the Athletic Brewing IRONMAN Lake Placid Relay Auction Givergy website. You will be asked to enter your details so we can contact you if you win an auction item.
How do I know if I have been outbid?
Within the Athletic Brewing IRONMAN Lake Placid Relay Auction Givergy website, click on My Account and then My Bids to see all of the items you are currently winning or have been outbid on. You will also be sent a text and email notification if you have been outbid.
How do I know if I won a relay spot?
When the system closes, your credit card will automatically be charged only if you have won a relay spot. You will then be sent a text and email notification with a confirmation of your payment.
How will I receive my relay spot information?
A representative of The IRONMAN Foundation staff will contact you within 2-4 business days after the closing of the auction, using the email you provided when you registered to bid to coordinate details for your relay registration.
