Overview

TEAM IMF is the IRONMAN Foundation’s fundraising team. TEAM IMF is a network of IRONMAN athletes that Race For More and are dedicated to leaving their IRONMAN legacy in race communities long after race day. Through TEAM IMF, athletes have the opportunity to fundraise to support the IRONMAN Foundation’s mission while racing an IRONMAN event of their choice at no additional cost. Funds directly benefit those communities where IRONMAN events are held by providing charitable support to a variety of local nonprofit organizations that provide support to their local community.

IRONMAN Foundation athletes receive special benefits, including a complimentary IRONMAN or IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon entry, Santini TEAM IMF race kit, invitations to exclusive in-person and virtual events, access to a network of other IRONMAN Foundation Athletes, and more.

TEAM IMF is a network of IRONMAN athletes that Race For More and are dedicated to leaving their IRONMAN legacy in race communities long after race day. It is an inclusive and diverse team comprised of every type of athlete from first timers to IRONMAN Legacy athletes.

When registering for an IRONMAN event, athletes can race to support the IRONMAN Foundation and its Community Fund through TEAM IMF.

The IRONMAN Foundation’s Community Fund directly benefits the race communities where The IRONMAN Group® events are held by providing charitable support to a variety of local nonprofit organizations.

There are a limited number of slots available for TEAM IMF at each IRONMAN event listed. TEAM IMF slots are available on a first come, first served basis. If all the slots have been filled, TEAM IMF will start a waitlist.

What do I have to do as a TEAM IMF athlete?

Your Commitment to the IRONMAN Foundation:

Fundraise for the IRONMAN Foundation’s Community Fund.
Submit a $25 registration fee that also counts towards your fundraising minimum.
Raise half of your fundraising commitment by your midway fundraising goal date (60 days prior to race day for IRONMAN 70.3 events and 90 days prior to race day for IRONMAN events and TEAM IMF RELAY events)
Raise your fundraising commitment no later than 2 weeks prior to your race day.
Create real change in our race communities all over the world and leave your IRONMAN legacy behind long after race day.

What do I receive as a TEAM IMF athlete?

How do I sign up?

Review the TEAM IMF FAQs carefully.
Once you select your race, visit the Select your TEAM IMF race section and click on the event you would like to race with TEAM IMF.
- (If you are a TEAM IMF Alum, or already have a race entry, please email athletesupport@ironmanfoundation.org to get your discounted fundraising code!)
Select "Register Now" and follow the registration steps to create your personal fundraising page.
Accept the TEAM IMF terms and conditions.
Start fundraising!
Stay up to date with TEAM IMF happenings leading up to the race.
Once you are fully fundraised you will be eligible for your complimentary race entry.

Who does this support?

The IRONMAN Foundation’s Community Fund directly benefits the race communities where The IRONMAN Groups® events are held by providing charitable support to a variety of local nonprofit organizations. 

In 2023, the IRONMAN Foundation will distribute nearly $2 million across 75 race communities worldwide. Since 2003, more than $55,000,000 has been provided through charitable giveback programs led by the IRONMAN Foundation to more than 10,00 local, regional, national, and global nonprofit initiatives. We are constantly referring to “tangible impact” because the dollars you raise through your fundraising journey have a real and lasting impact long after your race day. We could not do the work we do without athletes like you.

What if I already have a race entry?

Athletes who have already purchased their entries are more than welcome to join TEAM IMF at a lower fundraising commitment.

These athletes enjoy the same benefits as TEAM IMF members, creating a lasting tangible impact in their race communities.

NEW CONTESTS What if I raise more than my minimum?

Event Top Fundraiser: The athlete from each TEAM IMF event who raises more than $500 over the required fundraising commitment and has raised the most funds as of the final deadline (14 days prior to each race) will be that events Top Fundraiser. As Top Fundraiser you will receive:

Top fundraiser sticker to wear on your race bib
Recognition on TEAM IMF website
Name inclusion in IMF eBlast
Dedicated posted in the TEAM IMF Facebook group
Two race-day VIP passes (for select races where VIP is available)

Overall Top Fundraiser: The TEAM IMF athlete who raises at least $25,000 and is the overall Top Fundraiser for the 2023 TEAM IMF season will have the opportunity to race in the 2024 IRONMAN World Championship. TEAM IMF athletes racing in 2023 who are vying for the coveted 2024 World Championship slot have until December 31, 2023, to be the top fundraiser. The athlete who is awarded the chance to participate in the 2024 IRONMAN World Championship will be personally responsible for providing their own travel expenses, including flight and lodging.

**NOTE: The entire fundraising commitment is still due 2 weeks prior to your race day. The IRONMAN World Championship fundraising deadline is for athletes who wish to fundraise beyond the fundraising commitment.

TEAM IMF RELAY races

Each relay team should select ONE “Team Captain” to set-up a TEAM IMF Relay fundraising page. Click the “Enter a Code” link on the “Participation Type” stage during the registration process and enter the code “TEAMIMFRELAY” (case sensitive).

Complete the registration with information on all team members. Each team member can use the same fundraising page link to share with donors and collect donations.
