ROCK THIS TOWN

Overview

Rock this Town® is a program of the IRONMAN Foundation and the charitable foundation of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series.

With community being a core pillar of the Rock 'n' Roll Running Series, we are dedicated to improving the communities where our events are held.

We ROCK THIS TOWN by creating positive, tangible impact in race communities through grant funding and volunteerism.

  • We’re always thinking about the families and organizations that make each race community vibrant and unique. We know what gets them out of bed in the morning and what keeps them up at night, and we’re working to make their lives better.
  • Since 2003, over $55,000,000 in giveback has been provided to more than 10,000 local, regional, national and global nonprofit initiatives, led by the IRONMAN Foundation’s charitable activities.
  • The Rock This Town Volunteerism Grant program is an initiative that supports organizations with a volunteerism component within our race communities.
  • Running the Rock 'n' Roll 5K will help support our Rock This Town grants in the local community.
  • Donations to Rock This Town support our special surprise grants awarded onstage by Rock This Town Ambassador Captain Ann Wessling.
  • Used shoes may be donated to the Rock This Town Shoe Drive at the Health & Fitness Expo and through our partnership with Soles4Souls, we help others take a step out of poverty.
  • At select events, runners, partners, staff and friends may volunteer for our Rock This Town Service Projects and have a hands-on giveback experience as part of race weekend.
  • Local nonprofit groups in Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series race communities in North American may be eligible for Volunteerism Grant funding.
  • To learn more about the opportunities and application process, please contact the event’s Volunteer Director.
  • You can reach them by visiting the event-specific website on RunRockNRoll.com and clicking the VOLUNTEER link at the bottom of the page.
  • We've partnered with Soles4Souls to give shoes to keep people happy and healthy, create opportunity and provide hope in times of distress.
  • Soles4Souls is Wearing Out Poverty by providing short-term relief and long-term solutions. Since 2006 they've kept 51 million pounds of shoes and clothing out of landfills and instead created opportunities for people in need around the globe.
  • At Rock 'n' Roll Running Series events, bring your used running shoes and drop them off in the Rock This Town booth at the Health & Fitness Expo.
  • We'll provide your shoes to Soles4Souls, and together, we'll create positive impact and change peoples' lives.
  • Rock This Town creates positive tangible impact through service projects in our local race communities.
  • Each service project benefits local nonprofit partner organizations, powerfully linking our athletes to the local community and helping us ROCK THIS TOWN  long after race day.
