IRONMAN Foundation Annual World Championship Charity Bib Auction
Overview
IRONMAN World Championship events are the pinnacle of IRONMAN events and highlight the best-of-the-best in the sport of triathlon. One way to race at a 2023 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship event is to qualify as a top athlete. Another is to race with the IRONMAN Foundation.
For nearly 20 years, the IRONMAN Foundation Annual World Championship Charity Bib Auction (formally the Kona Auction) has provided a way for athletes to gain entry to these pinnacle events while benefiting our mission to create positive tangible change in race communities around the world.
This year’s auction gives athletes the opportunity to bid on five coveted IRONMAN Foundation charity bibs for each of the 2023 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship events. The auction will be held in phases with one (1) entry per race available each week.

As an IRONMAN Foundation athlete, you will be a part of an amazing community of athletes that stand out from the crowd by racing to leave a positive impact in communities around the world. In addition to receiving the opportunity to compete at a VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship or VinFast IRONMAN World Championship with the IRONMAN Foundation, the winner will receive two (2) SILVER VIP passes and exclusive IRONMAN Foundation benefits. The athlete and one (1) guest will immerse themselves in the ultimate VIP experience which includes exclusive activities leading up to and during race week!
When you race with the IRONMAN Foundation, you have the satisfaction of crossing the finish line at a VinFast IRONMAN World Championship event AND positively impacting the lives of countless community members.
Please note: The winner is responsible for providing their own travel expenses, including flights, lodging, and food.

The 2023 auction was held in phases with one (1) entry to each of the three VinFast IRONMAN World Championship events available per auction. Each event is listed separately.

Phase Two: Opens April 24 at 9:00 a.m. ET, closes April 30 at 12:00 p.m. ET
Phase Three: Opens May 1 at 9:00 a.m. ET, closes May 7 at 12:00 p.m. ET
Phase Four: Opens May 8 at 9:00 a.m. ET, closes May 14 at 12:00 p.m. ET
Phase Five: Opens May 15 at 9:00 a.m. ET, closes May 21 at 12:00 p.m. ET

- The winning bidder does not need to be the same person as the participating athlete.
- Race entry must be used in 2023.
- To compete in the 2023 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship or 2023 VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship, the athlete must complete (within race cut-off times) an IRONMAN or IRONMAN 70.3 race no more than 12 months prior to the World Championship race qualifying deadline.
- VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship Qualifying Deadline: July 3, 2023
- VinFast IRONMAN World Championship Nice, France and Kailua-Kona, Hawai'i Qualifying Deadline: August 20, 2023
- The IRONMAN Foundation charity bib is available to age-group athletes only.
- The donation portion of the winning bid is tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law in the United States. Each winning bidder should consult with their tax advisor. International bidders will need to locally verify tax deductibility.
- All proceeds benefit the IRONMAN Foundation.

Since 2003, The IRONMAN Foundation, in partnership with The IRONMAN Group, has provided more than $55 million in charitable giveback to 10,000 organizations in more than 75 race communities around the world.

The IRONMAN Foundation has hosted its charity bib auction for nearly 20 years. To date, the Annual World Championship Charity Bib Auction (formally the Kona Auction) has raised more than $3 million. Due to this support, the IRONMAN Foundation has donated to organizations throughout the Kailua-Kona, Hawaii community including Kona Aquatics Center, The Blazeman Foundation, Hospice of Kona, North Kohala Community Resource Center, The Pediatric Cancer Foundation, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, Peoples Advocacy for Trails Hawaii (PATH), The County of Hawaii Parks & Recreation Department, and many more.
In celebrating the 20th anniversary of the IRONMAN Foundation throughout 2023, IRONMAN Foundation is committed to providing more than $250,000 total in support to the three World Championship communities.
