The IRONMAN Foundation Community Grant program supports organizations within select North American and international race communities.

Grant funding provides an opportunity to create positive, tangible change in our race communities and leave the IRONMAN Legacy behind long after race day.

Groups located within select North American and international race communities are invited to submit an application for an IRONMAN Foundation Community Grant.

Since 2003, over $50 million has been provided through giveback programs led by the IRONMAN Foundation to more than 9,500 local, regional, national and global nonprofit initiatives.

The IRONMAN Foundation supports a broad range of organizations; however, priority will give preference to organizations and/or projects that:

  • Meet an identified need specific to that race community.
  • Can report a measurable impact at the conclusion of the grant period.
  • Leverage additional funds or secure match funding, therefore increasing the impact of the grant award.
  • All Community Grant Applications are closed for 2021, check back in late 2021 for the 2022 grant opportunities.
  • In 2021, Community Grants are available for application by charitable organizations serving the communities of the following races:
    • ViewSPORT IRONMAN Lake Placid (Deadline 6/13/2021)
    • Select Blinds IRONMAN Maryland Gerry Boyle Memorial Grant (Deadline 7/18/2021)
    • Intermountain Healthcare IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship presented by Utah Sports Commission, St. George (Deadline 7/30/2021)
    • IRONMAN Texas (Deadline 8/1/2021)

Gerry Boyle was a community leader, respected businessman, active volunteer, and, most importantly, a friend to many. With his unexpected passing earlier this year, Gerry left behind an extraordinary legacy with an unmatched commitment to his community.

Gerry was the IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman and IRONMAN Maryland Race Director and played an integral part in bringing the latter event to fruition in 2014. For more than 20 years, Gerry dedicated much of his life to supporting the thousands of athletes who descended upon Cambridge each year. It was his mission to provide an unparalleled and first-class experience for each athlete, honoring the hard work they put in to get to the start line. All the while, he was sure to keep efforts of the volunteers and support of the community at the forefront of everything he did.

To honor Gerry’s legacy of “Service Through Sport and Commitment to Community”, nonprofit organizations in the greater Cambridge area are eligible to apply for the Gerry Boyle Memorial Community Grant.

Applications for the Gerry Boyle Memorial Community Grant are being accepted at this town and will close at 11:59PM ET on 7/18/2021.
